EUR 143.000 issued in fines to two companies for predatory marketing campaigns

💶 Two companies have been fined in the UK for making nearly 50,000 unsolicited marketing calls to people already registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). The companies have been fined a total of £120,000 (€143,000) for targeting vulnerable people with predatory marketing campaigns.

First review of EU-US Data Privacy Framework concludes that US authorities have put in place the constitutive elements of the framework

📜 The European Commission has completed its first review of the operation of the adequacy decision on the EU-US Privacy Framework (DPF), which governs the transfer of personal data between the EU and the US. 

The report confirms that the US has implemented the necessary safeguards, including limiting access to personal data by intelligence agencies and establishing an independent redress mechanism. The review also makes recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the framework, such as better cooperation between US and EU authorities on key requirements of the DPF.
