Eyewear retailer Lensa fined for unsolicited mobile phone messages

💶 Optical retailer Lensa (Tensa Art Design S.A.) has been fined €15,000 by Romania's data protection authority for breaching the GDPR. The company sent unsolicited marketing SMS messages to a customer who had not provided consent for such communications. The fine consists of €10,000 for processing personal data without consent and an additional €5,000 for failing to properly handle customer access and deletion requests.
